I too said yes!

I too said yes!

I too said yes…. to go to a wedding expo.  If you want to see an abundance of dresses, suits, rings, flowers, banquet halls near and far (destination wedding) and photographers… then a wedding expo is for you.  If this list doesn’t tickle your fancy… then avoid them at all cost.

Aniko went to one in January. She survived…. barely.  She was even caught of guard when asked when is the wedding, she would respond with “who’s wedding?”  So she thought I should experience one too.  So I said “Yes!”… like she did when I put a ring on it.

We went in with a plan.  Look for tux/suits (I need new ones anyway). Check out dresses.  Look at places to hold a wedding… even ones that requires a plane ticket.  We went through the show floor systematically. Started at one end and went back and forth down the aisles.  Even scored us some espresso at one of the booths.  Half way through the booths, we sat down to watch the fashion show, that lasted about an hour.  Lots of smiling models wearing things I or even Aniko would never wear. On the guys side… obnoxious floral patterns on the jackets is a thing now… I’ll pass.  On the girls side, puffy is still a thing…. surprisingly. Most of the dresses looked like something out of a Disney movie.  I get it if you are 20 something… but I thought there would be some catering to older women….. even those who have been there, done that.

Over all, Aniko says it wasn’t as bad as in January.  This could be because she had the initial shock already, but she said it was less over the top this time around.  Yay for me.  We had a good time, didn't stress and wasn’t overwhelmed.

Now to start planning.  ;-)

Finally here.
